Boddingtons

Boddingtons is a refreshing, smooth and sessionable beer. It is renowned for its golden colour, full-bodied flavour and malty, morish taste with smooth, tight creamy head. Brewed in Manchester since 1778, Boddingtons has an ABV content of 3.8% and 4.1% in cask.

Also available in Can, Keg and Draught format in Boddingtons Pub Ale (Export - 4.7% ABV). 

Brand Facts

  • Henry Boddington established his first Manchester brewery in 1859. A hundred and forty three years later, the new Boddingtons girls – Claire and Claudia – introduce the ‘It’s a Bit Gorgeous’ campaign to our screens.  
  • Boddingtons has been part of Manchester since 1778.  
  • A connection that led to Boddingtons becoming one of the official partners at the XVII Commonwealth Games, held in Manchester on the 25th July to the 4th August 2002.  
  • The most successful Commonwealth Games in history and the largest multi-sport event to be held in this country since 1948. Boddingtons was introduced to over 5,000 athletes from 72 nations and approximately one million visitors to the city.  
  • To mark the occasion and toast the event properly Boddingtons launched a limited edition Commonwealth Ale.  
  • It may have rained on Manchester’s final parade but over 500 million audiences across the world will have seen Boddingtons’ parasols being used by the athletes to shield from the rain in the closing ceremony.  
  • It seems romance is in need of a pint of Boddingtons, as a recent survey highlighted that women are likely to be thinking of house hold chores while men are re-capping on the week’s sporting events when making love.
