InBev UK Scoops Mitchells and Butlers ‘Supplier of Year’ Award24 November 2006 - InBev UK has scooped a prestigious industry award – being named Drinks Supplier of the Year by the UK’s leading managed pub operator, Mitchells & Butlers.The Award recognises the successful business relationship between the two companies and the support from InBev UK, which has helped Mitchells and Butlers to develop an appealing and profitable beer offering. Steve Kitching, Managing Director, On-Trade Sales at InBev UK, said: “We are delighted to have received this major award in recognition of InBev UK as a company that excels in the delivery of what Mitchells and Butlers needs to develop its beer business. “We have used our consumer insight and premium brand portfolio in particular to help the company build its pubs and pub restaurants and speciality beer business. As with all of our customers, we avoided a ‘one size fits all’ approach, tailoring our support to the needs of every pub type. Our support has included the necessary back-up developed in conjunction with Mitchells and Butlers, to ensure that the brands work in the pub. “Recognition must be given to National Account Manager Andrew Williams and the superb job that he, Nick Yeo and the virtual team did for Mitchells and Butlers. Their focus on addressing the client’s needs and leading all of the initiatives for Mitchells and Butlers resulted in InBev UK winning this prestigious award. “We have also worked with the company on its strategy of creating an enjoyable environment for its guests, by providing high quality products and working to help its staff deliver the “perfect” beer experience through staff training”. Liz Knowles, Drinks Purchasing Controller said, “Mitchells and Butlers runs a comprehensive programme with its drinks suppliers to measure supplier performance throughout the year. We assess performance across the key areas of Category Development, Account Management, Quality and Service and the initiative underpins the continuous development of our supply-base in line with the strategic aims of the company. InBev was a worthy winner of our Supplier of the Year Award, in recognition of its consistent high performance. Inbev adopts an informed, proactive, flexible and enthusiastic approach in support of our delivery of exceptional consumer experiences. This is a fantastic achievement by Inbev and well deserved”. InBev UK was also Highly Commended in the Category Development section of the annual Awards. The Awards were presented at the Supplier Conference held recently by Mitchells and Butlers — the UK's leading operator of managed pubs and pub restaurants, with around 2,000 sites nationwide.
