Enterprise Licensees Score Las Vegas Trip with UK Darts Classic

12 January 2007 - InBev UK is working with Enterprise Inns to launch the UK Darts Classic tournament across its outlets. Teams will compete for prize money totaling more than £10,000 and the winners will travel to Las Vegas to participate in the qualifying rounds of the Desert Classic competition. Licensees will also have the opportunity to win a holiday in Las Vegas by entering their pub teams.

The competition, which is being launched in conjunction with the World of Darts, is open to all Enterprise Inns who stock InBev UK draught brands including Stella Artois, Beck’s Vier, Boddingtons Bitter, ‘XXXX’ and Draught Bass. It is set to help boost sales for participating outlets by creating a buzz around the prize pot and licensees have until the end of January to get their entries in.

Licensees who enter a team will go into a prize draw to win a trip for two to Las Vegas and there is no limit to the number of entries per pub. The winning team will walk away with prize money of £3,000 and the trip to Las Vegas, while each of the final 32 teams will share in the prize pot.

The Darts Classic will run over six months and the large prize pool gives consumers the incentive to visit the outlet regularly.

“Darts is a great way of creating a sense of community and gives people an additional reason to visit a pub,” says Keith Ellis, Account Director, InBev UK. “It’s a pub institution and this competition offers Enterprise licensees the chance to drum up additional sales opportunities during quieter periods and keep supporters returning to the outlet.

This competition is being run nationally and is likely to attract at in excess of 1500 teams. Inbev are building on the success of the Bodds501 tournament that has been running over the last 5 years with a tailored tournament for Enterprise Inns across the UK. However, it’s the first time that such a major prize is up for grabs, both for the winning team and the participating retailers, so we’re expecting to generate a lot of interest.”

To enter a team, outlets need to contact their local sales representative or the World of Darts Hotline on 0191 297 0987.
